Mount Cafe serves very good food but their delivery service management and customer communication are very poor. Last night`s experience was the worst I have encountered. I ordered food at 5.45pm and it was delivered at approximately 8.15pm. That`s two and a half hours later! I had been given a delivery estimate of 45 minutes. I tried 10/11 times to call the restaurant but the line was continuously engaged. I eventually got through, only to be told (this was at 7.30pm) that my order still had to be prepared. Not for the first time, I advised them that they had to stop providing unrealistically optimistic delivery estimate times, and that they had a responsibility to communicate with the customer if there are going to be delays with the delivery of orders. This would be both honest and responsible, and while it would not necessarily be welcomed by customers, at least it would keep them `in the loop`. As it happens, their delivery driver is a helpful, friendly individual who has the somewhat difficult task of being the human face of the Mount Cafe for home delivery customers. So, are more kitchen staff required? Yes, most probably.Should they be more honest in relation to estimated delivery times? Of course. Is better customer communication required? Yes, most certainly. A call/text to customers would go a long way.Is better overall management of the whole process required (from order-taking, through prioritization of tasks, food preparation and work-flow, customer communications and delivery systems) required? You know the answer! It is such a shame that virtually all of this review is about the order/delivery system (which is poor) and not about the food (which is great.) but that is what happens when the customer experience of actually receiving the food is so flawed and frustrating.

Working my way through the menu - all meals are fresh & delivered hot and full of flavour. 5* for the chef - thank you.

I wouldn't be lying if i said this was the best Indian/Pakistani food I've tasted since returning home to Glasgow. I know the west end still has somegreat food but I thought the southside would be just as good. I think I've tried most of them now. Here are my thoughts on the Mount cafe The Pakora is very good. not too stodgy and not too oily. the dip is also pretty good and the portions are great You would think you can't get bad popadoms? But you can. The papadoms I received in my delivery were spot on Peshwari Nan., lovely and soft, cooked to perfection I got a half and half, half Lamb Korma and half Pilau Rice. It was gorgeous, could have been a little more gravy.....no sugar which in itself is a minor miracle these days The Sag Paneer was lovely. not too hot and not too sweet The Aloo Gobi was delicious with a great sauce The Chicken Tandoori was and is consistently great, it comes with an optional dipping sauce and it's as soft as anything. However, there is a down side, which is why I never gave it a great....Last week it took almost two hours to arrive, delivered from a ten minute walk away. This week I wrote this to them but it arrived two hours late last night and I was angry. I think it's a real shame because the food is top drawer
